![]() ![]() ![]() I'd go back if only to frolick with the coati some more. The employees are all very gracious and polite. Taxis to Cancun from this resort are crazy expensive. It's good food, just make sure the coati don't steal from your plate! I would definitely recommend this resort to potential vacationers, along with shopping on 5th Ave. There are also little food carts in a corner of the grounds. The restaurants knew what they were doing. The buffet had a lot of options so it was really hard not to find something good to eat. The resort offers daily buffet options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with additional restaurants available for dining with a placed reservation. Coati are an honest highlight of my trip. The resort was really awesome! We're big fans of wildlife and the outdoors this resort offers both! I never knew a coati until a herd of them ran sqeaking by. I went to this resort for a week with my wife with the intention of checking out Chichen Itza during our stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much and we would definitely recommend this resort to everyone. They also had entertainment in the theatre every night which was so fun to watch with our two year old. They did have music in the lobby every night but that would be done by 9 to 10pm. If you are looking to party or listen to music late into the night you won't find this here. This is definitely a family friendly resort. The water is the perfect temperature of warm and cold if you go a little deeper. The sand is white soft sand, the best I've ever seen. You couldn't even get in the water from all of it but on the third day it started to clear up and by day 5 the water was crystal clear. The only issue we had with the beach was the seaweed (sarggassum) which flooded the beach on the first 2 days. The beach was probably the best part of the resort (other than the food). You did have to get to the pool early to grab a good sunbed with shade but it was no problem for us because of we were always at the pool by 9am. The pool was very clean and spacious, with a lot of shade. The staff in all areas of the resort were so friendly and handled all of our requests immediately. The latte and cappuccinos are to die for. The Aromas Cafe is were we drank our afternoon and evening coffees. We drank everything from mojitos to margaritas and cerveas. We booked a dinner at the Toscana Italian restaurant and the food was really good but we honestly preferred the buffet. They have 3 a la carte restaurants on the resort which are by reservation. There was everything you could want at the buffet, we even had a Mexican night which was amazing. The food was delicious and there were soooo many options. We were BEYOND pleased with the Catalonia Playa Maroma. This was our first in Mexico and our first time at an all inclusive. ![]()
